Must Have: Vintage Flare

I don’t think I have ever been so excited about a denim trend…

Major. Flare. Love.

I wanted to show how easy it is for anyone to work this look and at any price point!  I have select 3 pairs of jeans, ranging from $25 to $155. They all look very similar don’t they?? The biggest differences will be in the weight and quality of the denim and I know the fit will be different for everyone. I personally own the Gap (middle) Vintage Flare and I LOVE them! Those jeans paired with my Madden Clogs are always my go to outfit.  Style Secret: Must have for my little blogger friends! They instantly make my short  5’2 legs look sooooo long!

Inspiration

Anyone seen the latest Better Homes & Garden's Magazine? It is full of color inspiration!

I am LOVING this home! So much that I want to sell all my furniture and start over! I'm sure Brian thinks I'm nuts, but I'm so excited to start working on this project! Here is the design board I came up with to recreate this in our living room/ dining area. Let me know what you think!

What To Wear: Cocktail Party

My sister is going to a charity event next week and she is in need of a cocktail dress. So this morning we were discussing different outfit options and I told her I would find some things online and make a blog post about it. What is my blog for, if not to help people with their wardrobe dilemmas? I always said I wanted to do something to help people... :)

We discussed the basics; She is thinking about a black dress, she likes the idea of a gold or light shoe- something with height, but not too much height, she needs something quickly, so I narrowed her choices down to stores near her or with quick/free shipping options, all within a reasonable price point.

So here is what I found... 4 different looks:
(All- Forever 21)

(Dress-Mod Cloth, Shoes- DSW, Accesories-Forever 21)

(All- Forever 21, Shoes- Aldo)

(Dress-Mod Cloth, Shoes- DSW, Accesories-Forever 21)

I feel like I may have a new segment in the making...

Design Crush: Kate Spade

One thing you will come to know about me is I love, love, love, Kate Spade. I probably should create a Kate Spade appreciation blog, but the Lord knows I don’t have time for the 2 blogs I have now, so we will save that for a later date. :) I love their plans for 2011. Live Colorfully. For the next 12 months they will showcase a different inspiartion color, starting with January...
Red.

Etsy Love: Vinyl Chalkboards

I'm dying for a vinyl chalkboard for my pantry. A nice and neat place where we can write down our needs for our weekly trip(s) the grocery store. I have been searching for just the perfect balance between practical and design. I think I might have found something with these chalkboards from Etsy.com.

To do List - Blackboard Vinyl

And since I discovered Chalkboard Markers (no chalk dust!) I'm thinking I might need a chunky framed chalk board for Harper's room too!

SpotLight: Elizabeth & James

... are you familiar? If not, you should be. I’m in love! They have stolen my heart with their Spring 2011 collection. Tailored blazers, ruffles, flowing tops, and an amazing color line. Not to mention the co-designers behind this line are two of my favorite people in fashion. Ashley Olsen and Mary-Kate Olsen.

I chose a few of my favorites to share...

Question:
Is it ok to say ShopLight instead of SPOTLight? If I want to spot light a different store or designer from time to time?? I want something with a little more pizazz than SpotLight: Elizabeth & James. So what do you think? When I say something like ShopLight: Elizabeth & James do you immediately picture yourself in a car garage or do you think about shopping? I'm still not sure which way I'm leaning on this one...

Credibility.

I love fashion. I love design. I have a great love all things pretty.
Surely that's enough in the credibility department, but in case it's not, here's the recent back story:

I'm a college drop out... but for a good reason. :) I studied one semester of Interior Design at Oklahoma State and realized I loved it much more as a hobby than a career. (Although, now I would die for my own design firm.) For a brief moment I planned to transfer schools, which also required changing my major to Public Relations.  Long story short, I decided last minute (like the night before orientation) not to transfer schools, but thought I would continue to give Public Relations a try. I completed 3 years of college and then married my first (and only) love.
I moved to Nashville, TN, While B pursued his talents in the music world, I worked for a clothing designer as office manager/personal assistant/Internet admin/inventory extraordinaire/line rep/do everything girl. It was great, but we knew Nashville (even in all its excitement) was not where we needed to be. So we moved to a little town in Arkansas (the town where B grew up) and started to live out our "normal" life.

And here we are... 3 years later. With the addition of a beautiful baby girl, Harper Elizabeth, and our sweet shih tzu, Maxwell. I now work in the real estate world and just took on a little side project that I will blog about soon!

I hope you all will love and embrace this project as much as I do, Im so exicted to see what is to come!

enjoy, lindsey

Welcome.

Welcome to my new blog...

Nothing says "Welcome" like glittery Christian Louboutins.
Especially when they are my size.
